Fender

My Fender Precision electric bass is one of my favorite things because it represents to me what every product should be. It is well crafted out of the finest of materials. It is durable and well made. It is affordable but not cheap. It has often been described as a "work horse" and to me that's what it is. It is a tool that I have learned by experience to rely on.. Other products that come to mind when I think of Fender would be the following:

Maytag - washer/dryers
Carhart - jackets
Levi - blue jeans
Valvoline - motor oil
Martin - acoustic guitars
Lee Oscar - harmonicas
Coleman - camp stoves
Buick - automobile
Stanley - thermos
Dewalt - power tools
Casio - watch
Leatherman - multi-purpous tool
Case - pocket knife
Dunlop -guitar picks

Just glancing over this list of good products give me a feeling of satisfaction just knowing that I own them and I'm thankful that I have discovered them. The Casio watch was an especially good find because as far as watches go, it is one of the least expensive models and yet I've been through countless watch bands and batteries and it's always held up good even though I wear it to work.

My Favorite Things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings These are a few of my favorite things Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Silver white winters that melt into springs These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites When the bee stings When I'm feeling sad I simply remember my favorite things And then I don't feel so bad.

I first heard that song when I was in the 3rd Grade but I never related to it until recently when I started lising a few of my favorite things. As the list grew longer I began to realize just how much better I felt when I was blue just by reading the list. Then I was reminded of this song, especially the chorus:

"When the dog bites When the bee stings When I'm feeling sad I simply remember my favorite thingsAnd then I don't feel so bad".

One short list I like to carry with me is this:

Fender
Gretsch
Martin
Dodge Van
Freedom
Colonial Gardens
Sharon Woods
CCX Jacket
Solo Soul
Dragon Slaying
Brake Operator
The Breakfast Club
Thrift Store
Library
Web Sites
Sharonville

This list would mean nothing to most people and even most people I know, but each item on the list has alot of meaning to me and it would take alot of time and space to explain each one. I've even branched out to include lists of things I'm thankful for and favorite places just to name a couple. Each list does the job of making me feel better. The next entries in this blog will include descriptions of what items on the list mean to me. Later I may add more lists.
